I got to spend yesterday getting to know Anna and Jackson (and their families) as they prepared to welcome their daughter into the world. Even though we had not met before, I immediately felt like we had been friends for a long time. The room was full of nervous, excited energy and everyone could not wait for their baby girl to get here.
I arrived when Anna was 6cm dilated and things progressed at a slow and steady rate. Here's the story of Riley's birth...
The predictions (there were a couple of cheaters who kept changing their time.weight). Ha ha
10cm...here we go!
Because Riley was looking sideways, she was making her Mommy work hard (and Dad was even pushing too!)
They kept their sense of humor the whole time and I thought Anna was gonna laugh that baby girl out! We were all cracking up and at one point my cheeks were hurting from laughing with these two.
And here is the moment they have been waiting for...
There is nothing in the world like this.
Big girl!
The new family
Time to meet the everyone!
Anna & Jackson, thank you so very much for allowing me to be a part of Riley's birth. You were both amazing and I loved watching you become a family of three. I can't wait to snuggle on your baby girl again next week. She is already so loved. Congratulations!!!

Cannot wait to experience this with you by my side BK. I have no words to describe just how much...
wow! absolutly beautiful. Im going to be photographing my best friends birth very soon (any day now lol)
and was curious what setting you used if you didnt use your flash during the actual birth. Thanks!
Thanks everyone!! Amber--I shoot on manual and never use flash during birth sessions. Settings just depend on the the room and light, but usually wide open and high ISO's. :)
I cant thank you enough for your response!! This helps me out so much! :o)
